Community Service
This year, the Kinsmen Club of Vulcan has set aside $24,500 for the following organizations: ➢ Town of Vulcan 100th Anniversary Committee ($5,000) ➢ Vulcan Fire Department ($5,000) ➢ Man Van™ - mobile PSA testing van (early detection of prostate cancer in men over 40) ($2500) ➢ Rainbow Literacy ($1,000) and Vulcan Victim Services ($1,000) ➢ CCHS Band ($1,000) ➢ CCHS/Vulcan Prairieview Youth Mentoring Program ($4,000) ➢ Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ($1,000) and STARS Air Ambulance ($1,000) ➢ Youth Leadership Conference ($1,000) ➢ Kid Sport ($1,000) ➢ Highway Cleanup (CCHS Baseball) ($500) ➢ Extendicare Family Recognition Evening ($500)
Over the last few years, the Kinsmen Club of Vulcan has provided funding for the following:
- a committment of $20,000 for the Royal Canadian Legion Roof Project.
- the new ice resurfacing machine at the hockey arena ($45,000)
- poutdoor basketball courts at Vulcan Prairieview Elementary School ($12,500)
- Replacement of all of the equipment in the Virginia Mitchell, Memorial Avenue, and Allan Subdivision playgrounds ($100,000)
- construction of the skateboard park ($65,000)
- new County Central High School band program ($15,000)
- electronic sign for the Vulcan Tourism Committee ($10,000)
- CRC Tables ($3000)
- Kinette walking path ($12,000)
- Rainbow Literacy Society ($1000)
- Vulcan minor sports
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Kinsmen national charity) ($5,300)
